Donations Help keep the Edgefield tradition alive by making a donation. Your donation will help keep this website updated and further develop the pottery tradition in Edgefield, South Carolina. Currently, there are plans for a ground hog kiln. Donations do not have to be monetary. They may also be material ie. bricks for the kiln. The Edgefield County Historical Society's goal is to educate the public as to the significance of the alkaline-glazed tradition in the heritage of the arts and humanities in Southern decorative arts. It is the goal of the project to re-establish the pottery traditions in the county, to educate the public to the importance of alkaline-glazed pottery as a Southern art form, to emphasize the Afro-American influence on this tradition, and to promote cultural tourism in the community. For those of you who have been given a personal tour of Old Edgefield Pottery and/or The Ferrell Museum or perhaps had the benefit of having your pottery evaluated by the Ferrell's, please consider a donation for their valuable knowledge.
