Bidding Ended August 1, 2001
Opening Bid $150.00
High Bid $867.77
Reserve Not Met

Description/Dimensions: Circa 1850. Highly fired to a light honey/green with celadon runs particularly from the handles and decorated with a trailed, looped kaolin cartouche surrounding a trailed kaolin 2 indicating volume. Decorations appear to be oval shaped. This is an illusion created by the variance of the inner ring. The outside of the decorations are almost perfectly round. One side mesaure 5 3/8" while the other measures 5 1/8". Vessel measures 13 3/4" tall and 28" circumference. The rim measures 6" outside diameter and the bottom is 7" in diameter. The lug handle measures 6" from corner to corner and are 1 1/4" wide across the top. Bottom exhibits moderate wear.
Damage/Repairs:
Chip measures 1" x 3" out of the rim and an old, stable hairline extending from the bottom 9" up the side. Hairline has no effect on the stability of the piece, it rings like a tuning fork.
